We are excited to announce that Ant, a Mexico-based underwriting agency for the Latam surety market, has entered a strategic joint venture with XS Global. Through this new partnership, XS Global can now offer Surety as a new business line.

Ant, MGA established in 2019, will complement XS Global offerings by bringing underwriting expertise for the surety business. “We are very happy to join XS Global. This partnership allows us to gain global presence as part of an MGA with over ten business lines and a strong track record of results”, explains Alejandro Cabrera, founder of Ant.

This partnership aims to strengthen Ant’s surety portfolio with strong reinsurance capacities and expand beyond LATAM. “Brazil, for example, is a very interesting option for the Surety business that we haven’t explored yet. With XS Global already active there, it is a natural path to pursue. The same applies to Europe, specifically Spain”, Alejandro Cabrera stated.

The XS Surety Team boasts almost 20 years of industry experience. Laura Becerril, underwriter of Ant MGA, is leading the team as senior underwriter. She has more than 18 years of experience in underwriting guarantees and surety. Before joining Ant MGA in 2023, she worked at Swiss Re, and AON Re. She will be working with Antonia Colín, who has more than 10 years of experience in the surety market and worked at Chubb Monterrey Fianzas underwriting surety.
