August 27^th, 2024 – Miami, FL / XS Global strengthens its commitment to Brazil by appointing Newton Queiroz, a renowned insurance executive in Latin America, as the Country Manager for XS Brazil, effective September 1^st.

In his new position, Queiroz will be responsible for XS Global operations across the Brazilian Market and report directly to Jorge Cazar, XS Global CEO. Cazar commented: “This strategic move underscores our strong belief in the growth potential of the Brazilian market. We are delighted to welcome Newton to this important role. His leadership, exceptional network, and deep knowledge of the market make him perfectly placed to develop further our strategy for growth in Brazil. This key appointment is the latest in a series of moves XS Global has made in Brazil. In May of this year, they hired Rodrigo Granetto as Long Tail Lines Director, who is already active in the region. The group has been deepening its presence in the Brazilian reinsurance market since 2023, laying the groundwork for the opening of XS Brazil.

With over 25 years of experience in the insurance sector, Queiroz will play a key role in driving XS Global’s success in Brazil. He has held leadership positions not only in Brazil but also in significant global markets, including Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and Mexico, working for companies such as Allianz, AON, Swiss Re and Argo, among others. He has over 15 years of experience in C-level positions and an exceptional track record of success in various operations, including greenfield and turnaround projects across Latin America.

Queiroz holds an Honors Bachelor in Business from York University, a Master in Business Fundamentals from the Schulich School of Business and a PhD in Advanced Studies of Business Administration from Azteca University. He has also completed specialized programs at prestigious institutions such as Harvard Business School and MIT.
